How we handle what you share
This journey asks you to reflect honestly about your convictions, your questions, and where you actually are. That kind of honesty is only possible when you can trust what happens to your answers. So here it is, in plain language: what we ask for, why we ask, and who can see what. No legal fine print, just how the platform actually works.
You can begin without an account
The Stage 1 reflection is anonymous. We ask for your first name so the experience can speak to you personally, and nothing more. No email address, no account, and no sign-up is needed to take the assessment or to read your results.
An account exists only if you choose one
After your results, you can choose to share your email address, or skip that step entirely and simply read your results. An account is created only when you share your email. At that point we also ask for your zip code. We use it to suggest partner organizations and opportunities near you, and to understand, at the state level, where this journey is reaching. It is never used to pinpoint where you live.
What your email is for
Two things: sending you your results, and welcoming you back. There are no passwords here. When you return, we email you a sign-in link instead. Once you're signed in, you stay signed in on that device while you're actively on the journey; a session left untouched ends on its own after about a month.
Who can see your answers
Your reflection is the point of this experience, not a staff dashboard. The Faithful Witness team can see what you've chosen to share (your email address and the state your zip code falls in) along with your progress on the journey, when you completed each stage, and which of the five Discernment Profiles your reflection surfaced. They never see your individual assessment answers. That's not a policy we promise to follow; it's how the platform is built.
The Micah Catalyst for your region, the regional leader who can connect you with organizations near you, sees less than that. They see your name and email address, which organizations you've asked to see contact info for, and that you finished a stage. Not your answers, not your scores, and not which Discernment Profile your reflection surfaced.
Your written reflections and journal entries stay yours alone.
Updates are your choice
You will never be added to a mailing list by default. Hearing from a guide, or receiving updates from the Faithful Witness Campaign, are choices you turn on yourself, and they stay off unless you do. Already opted in? You can turn campaign updates off anytime from your dashboard's email preferences, and back on if you change your mind again.
What lives in your browser
When you begin the assessment, your browser holds an anonymous session so your progress can be saved and you can pick up where you left off. It doesn't identify you. When you sign in with your email, a sign-in session cookie keeps you signed in. We use no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies. The typefaces on these pages are served by Google Fonts, so your browser requests them from Google.

If you'd like your information corrected or deleted, or you have any question about how it's handled, write to us at guides@faithfulwitness.us. A real person reads it.
